Hi MIchael, welcome to the forum
Years ago there was a very skilled guy in Sanremo who used to be very helpful, but I have no idea how to get you in touch with him.
I think he even sold his XT.
If you occur to ride over there, stop by for a beer and park your bike in a clearly visible spot.
Maybe he could bump into it and start a talk.
